Topic: New Tax Laws and Your Investments

Speaker: John Ma

Last month, U.S. Congress passed new tax laws that will make significant changes in our personal financial planning. In this seminar, Mr. Ma will explain the new tax rules which are relevant to our alumni; its implication on children's education plan, retirement plan, and investment strategy. Mr. Ma may spend one hour on speech, and leave another hour for financial consultation.

John Ma: Enrolled Journalism Department in 1984. Came to the U.S. in 1990 and is currently a senior financial consultant of Quick & Reilly, a subsidiary of Fleet Boston Financial Group, the sixth largest banking firm in the country. He provides investment advice to his clients on stocks, bonds, mutual funds, annuities, and life insurance. John oversees approximately $50 million assets under management. He holds stockbroker license, insurance license, broker supervision license, and registered investment advisor license.
