----------------Introduction of OCEF --------------------
OCEF is a non-profit charity organization registered in the State of Texas and granted being a tax exempt 501 (c ) (3) organization by Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Its sole mission is to help less-privileged children in rural areas of China finish education up to 9th grade. Registered in California in 1992 with the original name of SOS China Education Fund, OCEF has helped more than 3000 children so far in realizing their simple dream of going to school. Our vision is to increase the number of students by 25% each year..
Due to social and historical reasons, millions of school-age children in China's vast rural areas are still struggling for a chance to receive basic education. Local government and parents are too poor to help. Your care and generosity will be the only means that these children will have to get the basic reading and writing skills, skills they need to push themselves out of
ignorance and poverty. A donation of US$40 will help one of them to stay in
school for one year.
Characteristics: All donation from the public is used to help needy children; the operation cost of the Foundation is provided by special donations made by our Board members and Trustees. Supporting money is sent to each supported school directly from OCEF and delivered to students at an open conference attended and monitored by OCEF's volunteer coordinators in China.
